Dive right in to the Pondering
Pool , a collection of unique, whimsical art work that inspires and entertains
as it encourages us to reach hungrily for our own meaning. Susan Mrosek art is
most commonly served up in the form of a greeting card. We find the detail and
impact of a larger print more to our liking. Poopsies has selected a wide variety
of prints which ship out matted or framed. Pondering Pool pieces have hung in
many an office and home as encouragement, a mantra, or simply a thing of beauty
to be enjoyed. Mrosek’s art has been said to hint of artists as varied as Dr.
Suess, Norman Rockwell, and Salvador Dali. I think the answer to how this is
possible lies in the uncanny way in which her pieces allow the viewer to see
what they need most in her wonderful emotive prints. Whether they seem sad,
poignant, jubilant, or just plain order you to get out there and LIVE, you can
be sure there is something inside you reaching out to something reaching back
from her and creating that response.
About the Artist
Susan Mrosak lives and creates in
Tuscon Arizona
with her husband Bill. When asked to
explain her talent she says "I'm convinced I cultivated my sense of sharply ironic
humor as an embryo, somehow knowing I'd need it later on. Throughout the years,
these perceptions have led me to revel in constant creativity.
My propensity toward the misshapen, erratic side of life is evident in most of
my work, though I've painted my fair share of notable, realistic portraits.
Following 9 years of serious painting, I unexpectedly began to write. It was
liberating, to say the least. I could be loud, nonsensical, and brutally honest
without uttering a sound. Though my words were meant to amuse and defuse only
me, I chose to illustrate and share them with others."
All art makes an impact. At the Pondering Pool,
they call these ripples. Here are a few notes left by some of the many that
have been moved and changed by the art of Susan Mrosek.
~~~~ Ripples ~~~
I am transported by the images and messages of The Pondering Pool and
it's magician, Susan Mrosek. Take a dip, if you dare.
I found Susan Mrosek's cards today and my life is more colorful for it.
Not only are they funny and sad and insightful and quirky – the drawings are so
lusciously twisted I cannot stop looking at them, tracing lines, tasting
colors, letting myself be delighted over and over. I gave "Beside the
point" to my significant other – and tomorrow I plan to hand "Working
on it" to my art history professor together with a late paper on renaissance
art patrons, hoping it will mitigate my tardiness.
You made me smile today – thank you.
No, I may not know you, but I have met you before. You are me if I
had the imagination and creativity in writing and drawing that you've been
blessed with. Your talent reinforces my belief that the things I feel are
more universal than just my own head. I wish you would write more so I could
read more about me.
Thank you for sharing.
